What is 1985FM?
1985FM is a podcast/news site dedicated to the latest in the games industry. While our primary focus is on our weekly podcast, we keep our listeners in the loop outside of the show. On our show, we go into deep discussion of what we have been playing and discuss highlights of what has happened over the last week. We also do reviews/features to provide commentary on current events and topics relevant to the video game industry.
After the crash of the video game market in 1983, video games were considered just a fad that couldn't be seen as anything more. Nintendo in 1985, release the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), marketing it as a toy in order to avoid the negative stigma video games had had back then. Needless to say, it was a huge success. Ever since, gaming has become more and more a part of our every day lives. It has formed our culture, created a viable outlet for artists to explore and create, and has continued to push technology further every day.
